Valery Harper, Principal, Riverside High School, West Virginia

“Edwards Educational Services, Inc. has assisted me with making improvements at Riverside High School by developing my capacity to become a strong leader of learning. Together, we have developed a true collaborative professional environment where the administration, teachers and students strive to become stronger and wiser each day. EES did not come and tell me exactly what had to be done, but together, they capitalized and built around our strengths to assist us with finding and developing our own way of success, this is now known as the “Warrior Way.”

Valery Harper, Principal, Riverside High School, West Virginia

lance“I’ve used many parts of iLead in the real world, particularly self-discovery and self-awareness. Coming into college and already having a sense of who I was was a huge advantage in applying for leadership positions.”

Lance Dunn, iLeader & North Carolina State University Graduate

Captain Bob Wooldridge, Knoxville Police Department“Thank you so very much for your inspiring and empowering keynote address at the 2013 Anti-Bullying Summit. We have received positive feedback from out community stakeholders commending the power of your message.”

Captain Bob Wooldridge, Knoxville Police Department

Kenny Moles, Assistant Superintendent, Raleigh County Schools, West Virginia“Edwards Educational Services has provided many low-performing schools services and support to help improve their culture and overall the achievement of their students. Dr. Edwards provides a service many partners do not–practical leadership development. Steve and his team have experience as both a well-read research group as well as practitioners which gives them great credibility and knowledge in leading true school reform. I greatly value what I have learned from Edwards Ed and know it is impacting both my practice and the students I serve positively.”

Kenny Moles, Assistant Superintendent, Raleigh County Schools, West Virginia

laura“While there are so many important things I have learned with iLead, the most important thing that has impacted me is the growth of self-confidence that comes with honing in on your leadership skills. I now know what I am capable of!”

Laura Chant, iLeader & Georgetown University Student

‘Throughout my iLead involvement from my sophomore year of high school until the present (my senior year), I have learned the true reward of community service. At times all of the planning we had to do for events seemed strenuous but seeing how appreciative those we were helping were made me want to do it all over again one hundred times. Through iLead I can take away the value of teamwork and just how powerful collaboration is for success. I have become humble and will continue to grow through all iLead has to offer me.’

Student iLeader, Bayport New York

“During the years Edwards Services has worked with Fayette County we have seen our drop out rate decline while our graduation rate increased.  We have learned strategies to keep students in our schools. Fayette county added Framing Your Success to our plans to improve PLC time, our leadership teams, and most important our ability to motivate  kids to think at a deeper level.  Our schools have embraced this initiative like no other and finally our teachers are the people finding the answers to some tough questions. I look forward to working with the Edwards crew.  We have always had great support from everyone we work with.”

– Anna Cline, Director of Curriculum Services in Fayette County, West Virginia

In June 2011, Edwards Educational Services (EES) began working with the faculty at Riverside High School in Kanawha County WV to improve student achievement on the Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics assessments on West Virginia’s end-of-year exam (WESTEST2). Using The Framing Your Success Initiative (EES School Improvement Model), EES focused on improving student achievement by enhancing teacher practices. Through monthly trainings, RLA and mathematics teachers used the Continuous Improvement Cycle to identify learning targets, create short cycle assessments (SCA) using the Mastery Matrix, track data and make instructional decisions based on SCA data. They also reviewed current research and collaborated to identify effective instructional strategies.

As evidenced below, these efforts garnered measurable results for the school and its students.
